    Early in my career, I kept getting sick. Constantly. Annoyingly. I exclaimed to my boss "My health is getting in the way of my life!" He posited that it might be the other way around. That tiny interaction helped me understand that if I really cared about my purpose-driven work, I couldn't ignore my own wellbeing.

    Working in global feminist movements, I saw the scale of the issue far beyond me: I meet incredible activists all around the world who had given EVERYTHING to their work, and were now facing major health issues, had no security, and held no sense of themselves outside of their service and activism work. The cost to their lives, their organizations, and the impact of their movements was beyond measure.

    I support people in reclaiming and pursuing health and wellbeing - taking care of themselves as they care for the world and their communities. Even in challenging contexts, we can lead vibrant, connected, and joyful lives. In fact, doing so is a vital component of collective care and wellbeing.

    Fasting is a powerful healing practice that can help reverse metabolic diseases, heal your gut biome, and attain a healthy body composition. I share methods from Dr. Jason Fung/The Fasting Method. Fasting is simple but not easy, and there's a lot of misinformation out there. I can help you with proven, evidence-based methods and the habit and mindset support needed to follow through with your goals

    Nourishment

    Most of us have received guidance on nutrition over the years that has been contradictory at best and straight-up harmful at worst. I can help you sort through the noise to find what works for you, and set your plan that fits in your life. We can work to unlearn past messages from diet culture, and focus on food as a way to truly nourish yourself.

    Movement

    There's no denying the importance of physical exercise for our mental and physical health now and in the future. Yet setting the right plan and following through consistently can be a challenge. I can support you in developing and/or updating your approach to fit in your life, to get results, and to bring you joy.

    Stress Management

    Stress - we can't exactly avoid it, but wow, does it do a number on our health! Exercise, fasting and nutrition won't work if your stress is through the roof. I can help you build in practices that help you manage your cortisol and regulate your nervous system while identifying and addressing the biggest stressors in your life.

    Lastly, sleep is absolutely foundational to our overall health, yet can be so elusive. I'll help you fine-tune your "sleep hygiene" and find the tips, tricks, and supports that give your body the rest it needs.

  • BACKGROUND

    Rachel is a master coach and facilitator who is passionate about supporting people in creating healthy and vibrant lives. She has been coaching since 2007, helping people pursue their goals and establish new habits. Her interest in health began in her childhood as a competitive figure skater. Growing up as a competitive athlete gave her skill and discipline, unfortunately with a side of unhealthy body image mindsets and misguided nutritional advice.

    Rachel has since worked to unlearn those lessons and pursue an active life of hiking, skiing, and biking. She is a certified yoga instructor and has studied a range of somatic and contemplative practices to support comprehensive wellbeing.

    In 2011, she learned about the Primal/paleo health approach and began following those principles. But it was only after finding The Fasting Method in 2018 that she unlocked the physical and mental health she had always wanted. Rachel has since taken courses through The Fasting Method and the Primal Health Coach Institute to deepen and share her knowledge.

    Rachel is excited to support people who want to establish sustainable habits that support their long-term metabolic health; are recalibrating their health goals and approaches as they age; and want to heal mentally and physically from diet culture and its destructive impacts.
